Jamie and Phil had a traditional wedding with all the details in Wisconsin with their family, but wanted to celebrate their love in the great outdoors. A place they both love and go to for peace and exploration often. So they packed up their wedding clothes and we headed out to one of the most epic lakes in the PNW, for a Colchuck Lake Elopement in the Enchantments.
“Not only did she take spectacular photos, she also took care of all the logistics which allowed us to relax and enjoy the moment.” -Phil
They celebrated by reciting their vows again, while surrounded by the towering mountains. They danced their first dance again, on a rock sitting above the turquoise waters of Colchuck lake. They even toasted to their life together with a bottle of special Whiskey.
Colchuck lakes sites right outside of the adventure town of Leavenworth, a meca for climbers, hikers, backpackers and white water rafters . It’s also the access town to the great Enchantments. A permit only multi-day backpacking area, and for good reason. It’s one of the most mind blowingly beautiful places I’ve ever seen and needs to be protected.
The town itself has a Bavarian theme, which means lots of pretzels and good bavarian beer. A couple breweries and an epic spa make the town the perfect launching point for an awesome Colchuck Lake Elopement.
That being said, one of these days I’m going to snag myself a permit and spend a couple days with the wild mountain goats up there, soaking in the beauty.
